Koh Chang

MOUNTAINOUS KOH CHANG

The mountainous Koh Chang is the largest of the approximately 50 islands that make up the National Marine Park Ko Chang. The park takes up an area which is for 2/3 covered by sea.

Despite the crystal clear water and idyllic beaches, tourism on the island still is in its infancy. There are some 75 species, in addition to reptiles and amphibians. The rough interior is difficult to access. The most beautiful beaches are located on the west coast.

Of the many waterfalls, 2 are well worth a visit: Than Mayom Waterfall and Khlong Phlu Waterfall.
Off the coast of Koh Chang there are a few beautiful islands where you can snorkel or dive. A wide variety of coral can be seen.

On the island you will find many diving schools that give you an initiation in scuba diving or deep sea diving. In Kai Bae you will find 5 schools with instructors in your language.

You can go to Koh Chang for adventurous activities such as elephant, jungle and sailing trips. If you want to keep it quieter, you can enjoy a snorkeling trip or a Thai cooking class. You will not find shopping centers here, but indigenous traders in local products and artifacts.
